General Rules

Eligibility:
  • Open to JANN members and subscribers.
  • Participants must be registered users of the website.
  • Executive members and members directly related to any member of the executive body are not eligible to participate.
  • Submissions must be original work created specifically for the challenge.

Participation Rules:
  1. All submissions must be your own original work. No plagiarized or copied content is allowed.
  2. Do not use AI to create your work.
  3. Submit your work for each month's challenge by the last day of the month. Late submissions will not be evaluated.
  4. Be respectful and constructive when providing feedback to others. Any form of harassment or offensive behaviour will not be tolerated.
  5. Only one entry per participant or team is allowed for each monthly challenge.
Video Specifications:

Final video in MP4 format using H.264 codec with a resolution of 1920x1080. Maximum file size is 65MB

Submission Guidelines:
  1. Create a new post in the final submissions section here:  animationjamaica.com/forum/monthly-challenge-final-submissions . You must be logged in to view.
  2. Click 'New Topic' add a Subject (See #3 below) and in the body share some insightful details about your submission (see #4 below).
  3. For the Subject: Use the format [Month] [Challenge Name]: [Your Name] (e.g., "January Squash and Stretch: John Brown").
  4. Provide a brief explanation of your submission, your team and their role. Also mention the tools or techniques used.
  5. Click the 'Attachment' button to upload your video as an attachment. Upload, then click submit.
  6. You are also required to upload your W.I.P’s (Work in Progress) submissions here:  animationjamaica.com/forum/monthly-challenge-wip-submissions . Your work in progress submissions are important as they help the community to see your process. You can upload images, videos, or a combination of both.
  7. For the Subject for W.I.P: Use the format WIP [Month] [Challenge Name]: [Your Name] (e.g., "WIP January Squash and Stretch: John Brown").
  8. Engage with others by offering constructive feedback on at least one other participant's submission.
Evaluation:
  • Submissions will be reviewed based on creativity, adherence to the principles of animation, and effort.
  • Feedback from peers and moderators will focus on growth and improvement.
Terms and Conditions

Legal:
  • By entering, participants agree to abide by these rules and the website's terms of service.
  • The Jamaica Animation Network reserves the right to disqualify any entry that violates these guidelines.
Disqualification:
  • Entries may be disqualified for plagiarism, inappropriate content, or failure to adhere to submission guidelines.
  • Disqualified entries will not be eligible for prizes.
Modification and Cancellation:
  • The Jamaica Animation Nation Network reserves the right to modify or cancel the challenge if necessary.
  • Participants will be notified of any changes via the website.
