Chevonnese Chevers Whyte's Portfolio

BIO:

Chevonnese Chevers Whyte has been a member of the creative industry for her entire life.  It wasn't until 2010 that she decided to serve the creative industry by teaching.  This decision has seen her teaching at various institutions, notably the Vocational Training Development Institute (VTDI), iCreate Institute, and currently, the University of the West Indies, Mona.  She aims to bring fun, technology, and entrepreneurship to the classroom, cementing the knowledge and skills necessary for learners to practice what they know.  Chevonnese has also assisted with the crafting of the animation industry through the Jamaica Animation Nation Network (serving as the Brand Manager and formerly as the Marketing Executive).  Her network also includes the Animation Educator’s Forum and the Society of Animation Studies.  She is a firm believer that animation educators should be working in the industry, providing real-world experiences to their learners.  Her experiences stem from working on the award-winning animated series Abeeku and the maroons, an original IP for Night Vision Media Ltd., where she sits as co-owner.  As a certified teacher, she has begun her journey to attaining a Ph.D. in Education focusing on animation education.
